2017 Hospital Financial Management Training Programme
The “2017 Hospital Financial Management Training Programme” has been completed successfully this month. More than 40 hospital financial administrators from 17 provinces and cities in China participated in this programme, in which, President Xu Yonggang from ShaanXi Provincial People's Hospital was selected to be the group leader.
The Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester invited lecturers from the university and hospitals to deliver informative lectures on the NHS financial system, cost control, budgeting management, hospital financing and auditing, the application of information technology in medical system and so on. The participants and lecturers had deep discussions on the financial management of hospitals and shared their opinions on the differences between the hospital management of two countries. The participants also had the opportunity to visit Manchester Royal Hospital and Christine Hospital.
In order to increase the communication between participants, at the end of the programme we organised an experience sharing session. Representatives from each group have shared their learning and discussed the challenges and strategies for Chinese hospital financial management in the context of medical reform.
In the feedback questionnaire, participants expressed their appreciation of this learning experience and they wish to have more opportunities to attend this kind of overseas programmes.
This programme received great support from the provincial health authorities and the hospitals in China. This year, around 100 excellent Chinese health management administrators and hospital presidents and hospital financial administrators successfully completed their training courses organised by UK-Medu and the University of Manchester. UK-Medu is honoured to provide support for Chinese hospitals to improve their service quality and discipline construction through international training opportunities. UK-Medu and the University of Manchester will make further cooperation to establish a sustainable learning platform for Chinese medical professionals.
UK-Medu has concentrated on working with leading medical institutions in the UK, aiming to improve the management level and expertise of hospital administrators and academic leaders from China through communication with the world-class medical and health organisations in the UK.
